Job opportunities in developed countries.

I was looking for a job that could pay me hefty salary. After surfing on internet, I got to know that developed countries like Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Germany offer visas to skilled professionals across the world.
I gathered all information pertaining to the visa processes of all countries.

Below is the highlight of my research that I completed in early 2015.

  1. Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Germany offer a visa that allows any skilled professional to work in these countries  for 3 to 5 years. After working for few years, visa holders can apply for permanent visa and citizenship as well.
  2. Canada, Australia, New Zealand requires aspiring professionals to meet certain criteria. For- Example English proficiency, skill evaluation, Experience, Cash (Minimum INR 4 lack), Age, Health and character.
  3. To prove English proficiency, you must take IELTS test and to get your educational documents certified, you must apply for evaluation to authorized organizations in each country. For- Example – If you need to get your software skills assessed in Australia, you must apply to ACS – Australian computer society. If you want to get your education certified in Canada, you should apply to WES- World Education Services.
  4. For Germany visa, you do not need to prove English proficiency. But other factors are important.
  5. Costs for visa applications vary as per the country. For Example – The cost to apply for German job Seeker Visa is approximately INR 0.5 Lack. While cost to apply for the Canada, Australia, New Zealand skilled visas is much higher than Germany. For Australia it costs around INR 2 Lacs.
  6. You also need to maintain certain amount of money in account at the time of application. In case of Germany, you should have at least INR 4 lacs in your account. For Canada, you need at least INR 8 lacs in your account.
  7. If you get a visa, you need to have enough money to cover the expenses like Air tickets, Apartment rent, food, transportation and other living costs. As per my research, you should have at least INR 6 lacs to be able to survive considering you take 6 months to get a job and start working. But skilled job seekers usually manage to find the job within 3 months very easily in developed countries unless country's economy grappling with the recession.
  8. You will have a tough time surviving in expensive city until you crack an interview and grab the job offer. So you should be ready for the challenge. Another risk factor is that in case you do not get a job within 6 months, you need to return to your country so you should be ready with the backup plan.
